Change Your XP BootScreen Mannually

Requirments:
1. Resource Hacker
2. Windows Xp(Any Pack)

Are you tired of the normal Win Xp bootup screen?? Here is the way how to change it. You can do this on your system if you have administrative privileges.
First You have to download Resource Hacker tool from the link Above.

1)Open ResHacker.exe from that and follow the pictorial procedure below:

2)Now Open a file to  Hack@...The file is ntoskrnl.exe residing in System32 folder inside the Windows folder.

3) Navigate to Bitmap->1->1033 offset. You can see a black Image on the right side of window. Its actually         the original bootscreen of Windows Xp by default.

4)Design a Bitmap(for your custom BootScreen .bmp extension/Should  not be more than 16bit depth) like something below

5)Go to the Actions Menu and Click On Replace Bitmap.

6)Click On Open File with new Bitmap and Open the designed Bitmap file.Click on Replace.Close it

7) Back in main screen, click Save As in file Menu.
8)Save it as kernel1.exe in system32 folder itself. Close Resource Hacker

9)Open boot.ini (Type C:\boot.ini at run)
10) Copy the line below [operating systems]. Paste it below the current line

11)Add /KERNEL=kernel1.exe to the end of New Line and Save boot.ini

12) You are ready.Go restart your system. After POST you get two options to start your windows.Selct the            second one.Your BootScreen  is up there lol!!.
Although you can remove default bootscreen option by deleting the first line in [operating systems] section of boot.ini. But do it on your risk, coz On any error windows wont be able to bootup.
